Ductwork Maintenance and Cleaning
Inspection, maintenance and cleaning of air conditioning and extraction ductwork are essential to ensure a safe and healthy atmosphere at work and prevent the risk of fire. It will also enhance the system life by preventing costly reactive maintenance.

Inspection and Risk Assessment
The initial phase of the project would involved a trained engineer conducting an inspection of the system to determine the extent of any contamination and a written report is produced detailing recommendations for compliance with HVCA TR19 and NADCA (National Air Duct Cleaners Association) guidelines. The assessment takes into consideration the health and wellbeing of building occupants and the methods by which the work may be undertaken to minimise disruption.
Full risk assessments and method statements are produced prior to commencement of works.
It may be necessary to arrange for the installation of access hatches in accordance with TR19 to enable thorough cleaning of the system.
Cleaning
The Nemco engineers employ a variety of systems to ensure deep cleansing of the ductwork through the use of:
Disinfection
Upon completion of the physical cleaning phase, the entire system should be disinfected to remove microbiological contamination. Pre and post cleaning samples can be taken to demonstrate the effectiveness of the cleaning.
Records
Following the cleaning and disinfection phases, a final report is produced including photographs of all critical phases, sample results and any further recommendations for ongoing control. Certification is provided together with stickers on the ductwork providing details of the cleaning carried out.
