'New home for Nemco'

Business of the Month Award, August 2005

pic1Nemco have been awarded the Business of the Month award by Barclays Bank for making significant progress in business.

Paul Taylor, Barclays Business Manager, said that Nemco fully deserved the award as “they have achieved a great deal over the last six years and have clearly demonstrated their ability to grow and manage a successful business".

 

 

Investors in People status, July 2005

Purchase of new business premises

Due to continued expansion of the business, Nemco Utilities have purchased a new unit on the recently developed Hillside Business Park in Bury St Edmunds.  The project involves conversion of 75% of the industrial space to offices and a training centre.  It is anticipated that the team will move to the new building toward the end of January.  The transfer will result in greater office space allowing room for future growth and will draw together the operational and administration areas of the company.

 

Plumbing contract means increase in employment

Due to the marked increase in commercial plumbing, Nemco have employed 3 plumbing crews working in East Anglia and the South West to offer remedial plumbing services such as removal of redundant pipework and water services, pipework reconfigurations and the installation of thermostatic mixer valves to meet the requirements of Legionella guidance and Water Regulations.

Using the latest technology and tools, Nemco provide a ‘no hot work’ policy by using compression fittings to ensure safety to site is maximised.

 

New sales and marketing executive

A new member of the team joined Nemco in mid July to fill the Sales and Marketing Executive position.  Becky Hawes recently graduated from Lincoln University with a BSc (Hons) Forensic Science Degree.

 

 

Finalists for award

Nemco were selected as one of the final three companies in line for an Anglian Business Award under the category for ‘Training and Development’.  The company were ‘pipped at the post’ on the night, but a good time was had by all at the ceremony, which included a memorable speech by Sir Ranulph Fiennes.
