Hot and Cold Water Systems 

Prior to connection with the water company mains water system, it is a requirement for the newly laid service pipe to be chlorinated. Nemco Utilities provide a new mains commission service that includes chemical disinfection to BS6700 standards followed by sample analysis to demonstrate effective chlorination. All water companies require this certification before authorising the connection.

In addition, new water services installed within new or existing buildings should be disinfected to eradicate contamination introduced during fitting. Nemco employ a team of skilled engineers using specialist equipment to inject the chemical disinfectant into the system. The network is charged with water and then measured amounts of chemical are pumped into the main inlet as water is drawn through every outlet. Once the disinfectant has penetrated the system and following a prescribed contact time, the pipework is thoroughly flushed with clean water. Samples are then taken to ensure that the process was successful and certificates of disinfection issued.

Heating and Chilled Water Systems 

Prior to using central heating systems incorporating, the entire network of radiators should be cleansed to ensure their long term protection against the damaging effects of lime scale and corrosion and to ensure efficient performance.

Nemco provide a power- flushing service for the pre-commission cleansing of heating systems in accordance with BS7593 to ensure flux residues and other contaminants introduced at installation are removed.

The cleansing products used are friendly to the environment, compatible with all metals and material commonly used in heating systems and condition the system prior to use.

For long term care, Nemco can dose the heating and chilled water systems with protectors and these levels should be checked and the system topped up periodically.
